Mike -
Ressurecting this thread as I was looking for something else.
Two points for bringing it back up -
a) I have been in Wentzville these last several weeks, building "Integration Build" GMT610 future model product down the regular production line.
b) Relative to vehicles "getting away from us" - we had one of our preproduction units get away. These vehicles have a special RPO code that indicates they are non-saleable and should receive an experimental VIN. Out of 72 vehicles we had one truck where (for some unknown reason) that RPO code dropped off the order. As a result the truck was built two weeks ago with a regular (saleable) VIN, processed out the back door and delivered to a dealership in Nebraska as a fleet vehicle.
We didn't realize that had happened until we tried to cut that vehicle into our regular production run and the order would not take. It was at that point that a red flag went up.
We were able to generate a new order (with the correct RPO string), receive the new order at Wentzville and introduce it into our next day's build to get back on track.
