Steve.. there is word that applies to your car- patina.. I think you are doing your level best to remove any and all patina that survivor car has remaining. Cleaning/soaking the overflow/washer fluid reservoirs, the underside of the hood etc. that is beautiful messy original patina that can never be reproduced - why would anyone remove that from a ultra rare survivor like you have here?? .. . just my opinion here Steve ..but you may want to step back and slow up on over cleaning that car.. then again, you have removed a bunch of the survivor patina already-that originality is gone, never to return... in my opinion.. you are doing more damage than good by over cleaning this car. There may have been 10 70-73 low mileage untouched survivors left, one less with your car now..
I know I am not alone in my opinions on survivor cars.. still lost why you would overclean this car.. for the 73 SD Formulas, must be one of a couple that were still original with its well earned patina..
oh.. I have a set of TA mud flaps if you need them.would help protect your car from rock chips real well.lol..
