Steve - thanks for the info. I'll pass your best on to Dave. I did not know you had the wheels blasted - did not remember seeing that in the thread. I am happy that you did because it's a lot of work. The faces are in great shape with no cracks, cuts or gouges. The finish just looks like it has a clear coat over the silver/magnesium wheel paint and they look somewhat gray and glossy compared to the other wheels I did using the OER magnesium wheel paint. The OER wheels also seemed to have more texture which I also had thought was a clear coat issue. I am planning to lightly sand them and then use an adhesion promoter prior to applying the OER finish.
Regarding another paint test, do you have any OEM left? Just kidding.
