If the press would treat her as any other driver the "newness" wouldn't even be there. Blame the media for the hype. If they're tired of her it because she didn't deliver to their expectations.
Stenhouse put in an average workman like rookie season, finished 19th I think, not very good for a 2 time Nationwide Champion, but respectable for a Cup rookie.
I'd consider Stenhouse's year a failure, so why do you expect more from Danica?

Stenhouse finished 19th, 253 points ahead of touring princess with 3 DNFs, 3 top 10s. the 2 DNFs can only be worth a maximum of 86 points if Stenhouse finished first which he didn't. That sure leaves a lot of points unaccounted for between the 2 rookies standings.
Mark Martin in lieu of no ride in the Cup series has been retained as an adviser/consultant to SHR to try to get some better results from the SHR drivers across the board, in particular touring princess. Stewart said he doesn't have the necessary patience or time to properly coach her and expects MM to be of a help to the touring princess. I don't believe any rookie has had a tutor assigned to them to help them get better results in their second year of cup racing.
I guess it's remedial racing 101, or racing special class for those handicapped not able to learn on the same levels as those that are less disadvantaged. I wonder if she'll get a blue parking place on pit road too.
