I wouldn't let the tranny type deter me from buying a car I really liked. I'd have bought my GTO either way, which still runs the original 2 speed ST-300 BTW. Also, to be honest, the factory 4 speed setup in my Safari is a big reason that I bought the car. Like my sig says
Being *slightly* biased to that year GTO, I believe you'll love it either way.
