I made a grave mistake about ten years ago when purchasing a RA IV car. I asked the seller if the engine was numbers matching. The seller answered yes. I should have asked if it was the original block. Through years of research, I was able to determine that the engine is likely a restamp. I was told that the individual who restamped the block had a relative who worked for GM, and because of this, he was able to acquire a set of original stamps. Since I asked the wrong question, I have no legal recourse.
