We all know HP gets it done the quickest. Nobody reading this is a dummy or "not getting it".
What i learned ( on the job) is 1 HP at 5252 RPM is more valuable than 1 HP at 100,000 RPM. Flywheel storage aside. Simply AVAILABLE HP across RPM is the desired goal. When the TQ curve is plotted, then the reason WHY becomes interpretable.
Clarity occurs when the 2 candidate engines are plotted on the same plot. 1-for-1 the lower RPM engine is STRONGER (more powerful)at same RPM (obvious). When the 100,000 RPM engine is gear-reduced (with friction@ inertial losses) to be in the same RPM category, the 1HP@5252 become even more clearly stronger. No contest.
An ideal Converter being "realized" can change that.
