OK-figured out my vacuum control confusion, and it is right there in Craigs discription of the turbo vacuum control.
www.originalho.com. The 1962 unit is the only Corvair cntl. that can be modified to be used with the HEI cntl. '63 and later 'vair dist. mounted to the outside of the dist. and would be extremely difficult to modify to work with the HEI mounting base. I looked in Google images for the clue.
Nascar: did you check with Frank's. At this point , just buy a dist from Crane, MSD, Mallory, etc. and be done with it. If you want the HEI, MSD make a boost retard box,lile the one I used in the CarCraft article.
