Same as a few years ago when the 48 crashed out at Daytona and finished 43rd and next race had gained so many points (and not winning that race either) that he had the points lead even though the points leader finished way ahead of him in position. Lots of money being slung under the table to buy the championships as I know several of his cars (while severely illegal) passed through the inspection process in most cases with flying colors. and money was what got the 24 in the Chase last year. the writing is already on the wall and as I said the season hasn't started yet. Under the old points system JJ may have two championships but no more.

First of all - I am not a Jimmy Johnson fan.
But I don't know what you're talking about. The points for each position are well known and can't be manipulated.
You don't tell us which race that you claim Johnson finished 22 spots behind the leader and gained over 20 points - but it never happened.
As to the year he crashed out early in Daytona - it was 2012 and he finish 42nd, not 43rd. He got 2 points. Matt Kenseth won and got 47 points.
The next race was Phoenix - JJ finished 4th and earned 41 points for a total of 43 for the season after two races. MK finished 13th and earned 32 points for a total of 80 points for the season.
The points leader after the first 2 races was Denny Hamlin (who won the race in Phoenix) with 89 points - 46 points ahead of JJ.
JJ wasn't even in the top 20 after 2 races - much less leading the points.
