This first pic is a heavily modded Colt Series 70 MK IV. No idea who modded it, it was that way when I picked it up. It's a VERY accurate shooter...

The next pic is my old 1917 Colt US Army Model. It's missing the front sight and has a replacement slide. The SN dates the frame to 1917 and the slide is 1917 but has the marking indicating "AJ Savage" made it. AJ Savage was awarded a contract to produce pistols for WWI but none were ever delivered. Some people claim that guns with these slides were made entirely by AJ Savage and are rare but I don't buy it. Since my frame and slide clearly don't match, I assume they were used strictly as replacements... I have fired it on occasion but since the slides weren't heat treated its rare. I put in a 17 lb recoil spring with a shock buffer and it shoots quite nice.
