I thought the same thing.

But then, a real racer would have put his/her hands back on the steering wheel after the initial impact and steered the car straight.

The touring princess just let the car steer itself (after an impact to the right front tire) and surprise - the car went to the right...

Last year the 500 was the highlight of her season. It was all downhill from there. She left Daytona in 8th place. She finished 27th - dropping 19 places during the season.

At least this year, she can't fall very far - she's in 37th place right now - and because of part time drivers it will be virtually impossible for her to do worse than she did last season. 3 drivers that finished ahead of her yesterday got zero points because they are running for points in Nationwide. Landon Cassil finished 12th, Brian Scott 25th and Trevor Bayne finished 33rd.

The touring princess actually finished 40th, but is in 37th place after one race.

Next week she could crash out on lap one and possibly improve her standings in the points...

Or maybe not. Clint Boyer and Martin Truex Jr. are behind her in the points and after next week will surely pass her in the standings.
