Per your request, attached are the 9th and 10th pull on John Krull's 541 we did a few years ago. For pull 11 we switched to alcohol and it did made 884 lbs-ft torque before we hurt the head gaskets. Without any doubt, machines that make this level of power are not for the faint at heart, shallow pockets or mediocre parts. We calmed it down a bit with a dished piston and the rest is history discussed in other threads on here. As I understand John has not run it much. His day job is very demanding and it takes him all over the place more than anywhere else. Cool project for sure.
