I was more referring to the camera thing. He was buying a new car but didn't own a camera.

I had a little "Brownie" box camera but still had to ask mom or dad to get all the film developed (and pay for it).

Not like today, when everybody has a camera on them and can take "selfies" in front of the crashed airliner they just escaped from

I, for one, sure wish we took more pictures back then.
