I have oil pans from 70 and 71 40's and 455's. Think they were all the same.. valve covers are difficult to find in good shape. I bought a pair on ebay last week that came in and were perfect,suprised me how good they were.guy said he removed from an HO engine. paid $100,which was a bit high,but for non dented/rusted originals couldn't pass up.. not sure if 72 changed but think it was same as 71's?? someone can confirm this who better understands 72 model year
