I only sanded very specific areas that had nasty scratches to limit the removal of the anodizing. Limited removal was better than leaving the gouges. I worked up from 800 grit. After that I used auto polish from course to ultrafine, metal polish, and last a coat of carnauba wax.

I almost forgot to add that i had to scrub them down with Brake kleen first to get all the GM plastic wrap residue off. That probably took longer than anything else.
