Harry Bloomberg who ran Biltmore Industries in Asheville is credited with starting the oldest serving GM dealership in the South. It started out as a gas and service station in the mid 1920s and then became a Cadillac dealer in 1937 at 68 Hayward Street. They then added Pontiac to the franchise in 1942. In 1967 they moved the dealership to its present location overlooking Patton Avenue. It's now referred to as "Harry's on the Hill".
It might be worth calling them and asking if any of the management or owners has access to their historic records. They probably have a historic listing of state dealerships.
