I have no idea what they are building. I have been told directly, however, that Ram Air 5 heads are NOT legal because they did NOT ever come on a production car.
You can not use a standard Pontiac intake manifold, exhaust manifold, pistons or camshaft therefore they are not stock replacement heads either. I was told that traditional Pontiac architecture is EIIEEIIE just like a Chebby and, of course, the RA5 is EIEIEIEI
this is what I was told directly by the head of the rules.
That's why we went with the Edelbrock Pro-Ports, they qualify as a stock replacement head because the stock intake, exhaust, valve covers, and camshaft are used and they use the stock valve arrangement.
