WOW!!!...those photographs of that SR motor is awesome!!..very cool documentation of a SR motor...interesting how the motors were not painted (although it makes sense)...SR to me is fine...it is brand new GM or it was when it was replaced most likely...I would take new N.O.S. SR over used anytime...I believe the negative connotations with SR has to due with guys thinking of SR engines not originally done at a dealership under warranty...but on the other hand your example is a new SR motor being utilized on your car...and that's fantastic as that is brand new!!!....N.O.S. SR new beats used anytime!!!..I have a SR motor that was replaced under warranty so its intresting to now know what it looked like when it came in and they were doing the work...now I wonder how dealers painted the blocks or heads when they had to do warranty installation...did they have rattle can engine paint from GM??...like how GM sold brake fluid, antifreeze etc....cool stuff, thanks!!....awhile back on E-BAY someone was selling a N.O.S 455 SR block..if I had money I would buy up all these parts as it would be cool to have as spare parts!...again awesome stuff and all the best on your resto!!!
