Tim is right. This is a pet peeve of mine. Instead of carrying a wire brush and touch up kit around re-coating the black enamel burns, I prefer to just have the hot spots not painted at all. That's Hirsch high heat Cast Iron primer under the color coating.The blue fades from color to just ghosted or none over the hot spots of the heard. This one could have used some more paint in the spark plug areas and the leading edge of the head where the casting date is, but since we knew the engine was going to be repainted, there was no need.
These pictures are taken after 4 hours on a dyno and no touch up kit applied
This keeps your hands free to admire the dyno results of 466HP/535ft lbs torque in one hand and a cold one in the other. Way to go Jim Robertson!
