So I am in the process of making a reproduction Delco Freedom battery for the Gold Car. Unlike older batteries, nobody makes a topper for the Delco Freedom batteries. Its sort of surprising, but that's the way it is. Roundport turned me onto the guy that runs the United Fbody website, and he's cracked the code and invested the time and money to make the parts you need to build a repop yourself. Shifting gears, I also toyed around some today with what I'm going to do with the motor, and exchanged several emails today with SD Performance. I think I am going to get a set of reworked 6X heads from Dave, a correct W72 intake with CNC'd plenum and runners. I've seen a lot of recommendations for the 068 cam, but Dave seems to have a better secret recipe. We'll see. I haven't pulled the trigger.....yet...
I've got a mess at the Hot Rod Garage, but the Gold Car is coming off the lift tomorrow and is going to get some road time. The weather is supposed to beautiful and I need to get the Black Car on the lift so the I can fluff it up some before taking it to the TA Nats.
