I suppose everybody thinks I have been off "playing with my Cat" for 2 months. Not true! I have the inner fenders installed. Man, did that ever screw up my fender to door gaps. Looking forward to redoing that and scratching more paint.

My headlight doors don't close. Peculiar thing is when I disconnect the check valve I would expect to hear some vacuum release but I don't. The can is good. Maybe I have the lines hooked at the switch wrong, or a massive vac leak. One actuator is new, the other a good used one.

I can't get this thing to idle at all. We are going back to square one, starting with pulling the carb off (again) and making sure the float is set right, and that I remembered to install the little check ball. Carb was rebuilt using Cliff's mega kit. Then the distributor. It seemed 100% dead on when I stabbed it in but who knows, I've been wrong before. Maybe some sticky advance weights, (I installed a used GM HEI) or springs gave out. Maybe a new vac advance can is in order, I can only imagine how generous they were with the advance in the mid 70s.

Other than those "minor issues" it is pretty much ready to test drive.
