I friend of mine was raised on the "Island" and he even says he's glad he's here in DE.... and he's still working. He's got a place in Buffalo he still owns and won't go back to. His ex lives in it and she's all the time asking him for money for taxes. He tells her pay em yourself or put the house up for sale and get out of NY. He'll take half and she gets half of the sale. Taxes are 6000.00 for an acre and a half. Taxes for his parent's house on the "Island" made me faint. Then you've got Sale Tax for everything else.
