Would not mess with it until you get definitive answer. I know that some have a ballast with capacitor in them that can unload on you if you use a tester etc. incorrectly, so I would wait for knowledgable answer. Also, some are 220v. Not much help I know, but I have talked to fellow electricians who advised me against screwing with them when I did not know what I was looking at.
