Thanks Bruce. I hope your coal pile is holding out. My wood pile is getting a little thin...
The parkerizing process is supposed to leave a suface coating that will hold oil and provide surface protection. That's why it is used for firearms. I think occasional exposure to water or humidity will be fine, but long term exposure probably not so good. My cars don't see much exposure to either, but I will probably hit the bolts with a little WD-40 every now and then just like my guns.
