I know the old race guys would run their gas through a coil with ice water and that some would try to cool their intake. I thought I read somewhere that these measures had the opposite effect and made the cars slower. Like to here more if anyone has tested this theory.
It makes sense that cold air is denser air and has more oxygen, but warm air/gas is closer to evaporation. (Now I'm thinking of smokey's fiero) To hot gas starts to boil out and flood the motor.
