Bob, I am sorry, as well, with the issues you had. I had problems initially with the trunk - don't give up!! I first used that trunk splatter from the distributer in Chicago (search the posts here and you can get details)- it was terrible.

Then I talked to others and they recommended Zolatone. So, after taking everything done to bear metal again, we used the Zolatone 20 series product, as well. Have you tried to source it at TCP Global. That's where I bought mine. They still list the 20-78.

I can ask the shop guy who did my trunk floor what prep products he used. I know he took it down to bear metal then laid down a self etching primer before the black coat (required for my Zolatone color). If you want the details, I can send you his phone number and you can talk directly to him. Let me know. He put it down two years ago and it still looks great. He used just under 2 quarts to do the whole trunk area.
