... well from a reverse-engineering perspective, it appears that's what led to the Tunnel Port/RAV layout because the pushrods are virtually straight up and down, so less deck height wouldn't be a problem, and during the era' this layout was developed the focus was short deck, small c.i. TransAm road racing, so it's easy to see what the factories were after then, large csa ports with straight valvetrains ...
