I've been following this thread pretty diligently. As Cliff has suggested, that barrier at 9.5 SCR for pump gas isn't a hard and fast rule.
I didn't build the engine in my bird so I couldn't tell you exactly what cam is in it, however it runs on pump gas just fine. It's a 462 topped with #62's which should put it between 10.8-11.2 SCR depending on how it was built.
I suspect that the cam may be something along the lines of an 041, possibly with rhoads lifters. Though without taking the engine apart I just don't know.
This is great information for the future if/when I decide to do a rebuild.
