Once again, the media is trying to hype the Touring Princess...
"Danica Patrick hopes her
extensive road racing background will be beneficial to a good run in Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.
Patrick has made
nine starts at the 1.99-mile road circuit during her racing career. However, only two were as a Sprint Cup Series driver. Her other seven starts came when Patrick was an Indy Car regular."
Her Indy Car experience doesn't seem to help her much - her average finish in Cup competition is 23.5 out of 43 cars. Her average finish in Indy Car is quite a bit higher - 13th. Of course the average number of cars entered is only 23. Her last three Indy Car finishes were 16th out of 24, 16th out of 25 and 21st out of 28.
So no matter the venue, she's typically been in the bottom half of the standings - despite her
"extensive road racing background"...
