All Windshields, tinted or standard "clear" had the dark tinted band at the top.
A Tinted windshield therefore had the dark tinted band at the top with the balance of the glass having a less dark tint. A standard Clear Windshield had the dark tinted band at the top with the balance of the glass being clear.
Pretty sure I'm correct. Others should chime in.
I believe this was discussed here some time back but not sure if I can find the thread.
