Sounded like the differential case was handled and a battery is 24 hours away at best. No excuse!
Sounds to me more like the motor is hurt or the car is slow cuz they havent got a handle on the tuneup or the car.
Either way you talk a bunch of trash and say you got something to prove then you show up and you prove it.

It is disappointing that the race is not going to happen, but it's not like Dick pulled the plug and put a LS engine in his car or anything.
