"The 1969 Wolverine 400 Trans-Am race at Michigan International Speedway. The race conditions were very wet and on lap 8 Austrian Horst Kwech lost control of his Mustang at 120mph, went through a fence and into a spectator area injuring 12 spectators, one fatally.

Kwech holds the distinction of being the only driver to win a Trans-Am race in both the over and under two litre divisions."
