We have many sets of heads out with the inserts. Tiger's CV1's Edel's Winsler's. To my knowledge none have had a problem. On my engine with close to 15:1 compression I have had no problems. When tearing down, the area of the gasket where the insert is, shows witness marks of the insert on the gasket. The gasket shows no sign of heat or leakage. The insert is pulling the heat away from the area so that the alum web in the head does not get hot enough to deform, witch reduces clamp pressure. Low clamp pressure reduces the inserts ability to remove heat thus allowing the gasket and head to burn through.
