The GOOD cable material is also very "Abrasive Resistant" as the cables are constantly being dragged over concrete, rocks, steel beams, etc in a normal welders day of work.

A typical starter cable is purchased, mounted, and forgotten, except for cleaning of the corrosion on the cable ends.
