I'm not sure if it's doable or anyone does, but maybe there's a place to have yours rebuilt Fred. Someone should know.
All I know is that the ones from NAPA are painted as the originals were, and are far less expensive than anywhere else you can get them from.
Plus they work the first time right out of the box.
