Let's just clarify something here....Tailpipe- the portion of the exhaust from behind the muffler to the rear of the car.
Exhaust Tip- The tip which mounts to end of the tailpipe. Could be chrome or a turndown.
Here are the Pypes tailpipes with their turndowns...which I cut a little. I really wish they'd re-design the tailpipe portion for the '68-'69 to be correct. I don't like that portion that is visible below the lower quarter.
I suspect that the '70 tailpipe might tuck up where it is supposed to be but still not sure it would work to get the correct angle for the '69 chrome tips.
