Thanks for suggestions about heat after application. I did try to speed up the drying by placing it about 4 inches under a 60W bulb with a reflector.
I am going to try a different brand before giving up. I struck out at O'Reilly's, may have to order online and wait...
I did figure out how to chuck it in my cordless drill, which at least helps sand the stuff back off.
