Was a "Recorded in MONO" Disc 1 and "Recorded in Stereo" Disc 2 offering of an early Beach Boys or Beatles LP set which I passed on...about as silly as a $500 disc cleaner for a $10 LP IMO
Previous post of "Snap/Crackle/Pops" of "Rice Crispies" like vinyl reminded me of '80's paper thin pressings that often contained impurities such as paper which could be seen with the naked eye pressed into the grooves!

You can do really cheap turntables such as the above ... especially the above. Set up properly, they're are quite musical.
BUT if you're going to actually play records, and continue to buy them, there's no getting around the record cleaner.
