Removing the trim is a destructive process(to the old lens...comes off real easy on the repos)so I wouldn't try this with a good set of taillights. Mine were trashed so it didn't matter if I broke the plastic. Once the trim was removed I "picked and filed" until all dings were removed and then polished all the way to 2500 and presto beautiful "new" trim. Now you have to glue the trim on the taillight. Once glued I used a couple of clamps and a piece of plywood the same size as the lens/trim and waited 24 hrs before removing. I can get the name of the glue I used. You can peel off any "extra" AFTER it dries.
