I would get more enjoyment out of seeing a classic Pontiac street car with an LS motor or BBC than seeing a new tube chassis pro mod car with Pontiac power. But that's how I get my kicks. I am more of a fan of the cars than the exact brand of power plant. After that I get interested in turbo vs. nitrous, big tire vs. small tire, etc.
No evolution is really required, tho, to stay "competitive". Just don't populate the show's competition with pro mod cars. The only kicker is that there can't be any more bragging about being the fastest in the country, because it probably wouldn't be true.
But it is still great TV, and one of my faves to watch.
