I think the "tank" car was the one at Motoexotica in ST Louis that looked like this one, but was originally quoizel gold. The Mecum ad refers to the color of this car as being "correct Cardinal red" which of course could be slightly deceptive.

I didn't realize that Mecum let you do that. Sort of an expansion on the phantom bid process at Mecum. I heard the SD's at the Schaumburg auction weren't exceptional, but it's a close call between a questionable Formula or SD.
