I just went and looked at mine and there is only about 7/8" between rear edge of the core support and the front edge of the radiator at that point.
The only thing I can think of is that the fan shroud must be different were the rubber isolators are located. I mean, that's what basically sets the space there. Is it an aftermarket piece?
I'll take a photo of mine tomorrow. I don't have a good enough camera to take a decent pic in the present light levels in my garage.
