I noticed the rear carb is a "997" and the front is a "683". I don't know if this was done intentionally, but look at the pictures I've attached.

Only the "683" carb bodies I have are without the hole in the choke cam boss--first picture. The second picture is of a late "997" carb body which has the shorter choke cam boss, but a tapped hole where the choke cam screw is located on a center carb. The last picture is of an early "997" carb which has a longer cam boss, different reinforcment casting, and casting numbers under the bowl instead of on the side.
