Agree on the early Gremies were
even w the straight-6 stripper standard trans econo models like our neighbors across street when new in '72 was school bus yellow base model poverty caps and all...I thought it was cool.
Better was later in High School one of the guys had a Black w Black gut Gremlin with a blood red Gremlin X stripe 401 4-spd w Keystone Classic mags and 50 series fat tires...was said it would pull front wheels in the air during power shifts...same guy had @ same time had a Honda CBX 6-cylinder bike w Kerker Header and Sticky tires...about same paint job as the Gremi IIRC.
