Mobil 1 is synthetic versus the Rotella conventional, which is part of the price difference.
As I said, if his analogy of the gas tank is really accurate, then it makes sense that you only need enough zinc to get the job done and that more is not necessarily better. And I did read on manufacturers web sites that they say NOT to put additives in their oils. I am glad to read that. Additives always make me uneasy. Too many variables introduced.
