Just saw this thread. I owned a Baltimore built 1970 GTO from '88 to '92 and it too had an 8 where the B should have been and did not look like a re-stamp. I always imagined that they lost the B stamp.???
poncho-mike, what's with the extra zero at the beginning of your VIN. I've never seen that.
