As I recall, they had a tank full of the cheap stuff (190-200) and a tank full of the good stuff (260). In between, you got a mix of the two.
My dad worked at Muldoon's Sunoco in Scotrun, PA as a second job around 1981....they had a standalone pump for that still-newfangled "unleaded" stuff. It was only like 85-86 octane!
