And so is sawdust, silica dust, body shop dust, and a host of other small particulate airborne dusts. Some are much more harmful than others though.
Asbestos due to the barbs on it, stays lodged in the air sacs in the lungs causing a constant irritation that can turn into cancer. Many other dusts can be expelled with the normal mucous secretions that our bodies use, asbestos is very resistant to being removed from our systems naturally.
