Pontiac 455's pull those numbers quite often, its not till you get over a 1,000hp that chevy has an advantage and thats because of aftermarket support!

Pump Gas Street 467 660hp 632tq mild hi ports, single Carb
Pump gas 498cid Pontiac SD Street Engine 700hp 650tq standard entrance E-heads, single carb, not pushing anything hard.
Notice how many 625-675hp 496 BBC's are running 11.50's and slower!
Same power in a Pontiac runs Low 10's!
PHR i think it was had some Bad Azz 496 that made a bunch of power on the Dyno went on to run so slow in the car they had 3 pages of excuses of why it didn't run 9's
