How do you tell someone to scrap something they just paid a lot of money for? He wanted an aluminum block and it was still cheaper than buying a new one. He had too much invested in it to just call it quits. We gave an estimate to fix it, and that's what he wanted to do, so we fixed it. If he had bought a new aluminum block, he would still have to spend another $800-$1000 to machine it and clearance it to get it ready for building. So he would have been a few more thousand dollars in the hole with a new one.
Plus, we like challenges!
